Digging Into Soil Health!

January 18th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, we’re rolling up our sleeves and heading to the Beacon Food Forest for their Let’s Talk Soil event. As a preschool deeply rooted in nature-based learning, we can’t think of a better way to spend our weekend than diving into a hands-on discussion about soil health!

So, why soil? It’s not just dirt—it's the foundation of all life! Healthy soil means healthy plants, ecosystems, and, ultimately, a healthier planet. At Sunflower Seedlings Preschool, understanding soil is a key part of our commitment to teaching children about sustainability.

What We’re Looking Forward To:

  • Learning From the Experts: We’re eager to join this open discussion and explore the data on soil health. It's the perfect opportunity to soak up some knowledge we can bring back to our program.

  • Meeting Our Neighbors: Community is everything, and we’re excited to connect with others who care about the environment just as much as we do. If you’re attending, we’d love to meet you!

  • Sprucing Up Our Garden: We’re hoping to get a few tips (and maybe a little inspiration) to enhance our children’s garden space. There’s nothing like fresh ideas to help us grow!

Why This Matters for Our Preschool

At Sunflower Seedlings, every outdoor activity has a purpose. Whether it’s digging, planting, or simply observing nature, we’re teaching kids to see the connections between what’s beneath their feet and the world above. Events like this one are a reminder of how important these lessons are—not just for kids but for all of us.

Join Us!

If you’re curious about soil health, love gardening, or just want to hang out with a group of like-minded folks, this is your chance. We’ll be there with open minds, ready to learn and grow.

We can’t wait to see you there and bring everything we learn back to the Sunflower Seedlings community. Let’s dig into soil health together!
