Learning Through Every Season

Let’s be real—if we waited for a sunny day in Seattle to do anything, we’d be waiting... a while. 🌧️ But here at Sunflower Seedlings Preschool, we won’t let a little rain stop us from having fun! Rainy days are just part of the adventure, and honestly, the puddles make it even better. (Because what kid doesn’t love jumping into a puddle like they’re training for the Olympics?)

Rain = Nature’s Free Entertainment
Forget Netflix—Mother Nature has us covered with the best rainy-day activities. We’re out there splashing through puddles, watching raindrops race down leaves, and yes, probably getting a little muddy in the process. 🌿🌧️ It's hands-on learning with a side of wet socks. (But that’s why we bring extra, right?)

Teaching Kids Resilience (AKA How to Be Prepared for Seattle Life)
If there’s one life skill we’re teaching kids at Sunflower Seedlings, it’s how to handle the rain like a pro. Layers, rain boots, and waterproof jackets are our daily uniform—because let’s face it, being dry is a skill in itself. And guess what? When they’re dressed for it, they don’t care if it’s pouring. They’re too busy discovering how rain makes everything cooler. (Mud castles, anyone?)

The Magic of Rainy Days
Rain isn’t just wet—it's magical! Ever noticed how everything smells fresher, sounds quieter, and somehow feels more peaceful? Well, so do the kids. On rainy days, we get to see a whole new side of nature. Worms come out to say hi, leaves get all shiny, and the beach transforms into a whole new world. 🐛🌊 (Plus, we can finally prove to the kids that, yes, plants do need water!)

Mud: Nature’s Best Toy
Mud pies, mud forts, mud... everything! If mud was a school subject, our kiddos would ace it. While we adults might hesitate before stepping in a puddle, the kids go all in—literally. And you know what? It’s actually amazing for their development (and their laundry piles). Mud play teaches them about textures, teamwork, and how to build the perfect, squishy masterpiece. 🏞️

Rain or Shine, We’re Outside
Let’s face it—if we let the rain keep us inside, we’d miss out on half the fun! Whether it’s mist, drizzle, or full-on downpour, we will be out there soaking up the magic of nature (and occasionally drying off afterward). Kids at Sunflower Seedlings learn that rain is just another part of the great outdoors, and honestly, it’s way more fun than we give it credit for.
