Welcome to Sunflower Seedlings Preschool

Hey there, and welcome to the Sunflower Seedlings Preschool blog!

I’m Kayla, the founder, sole teacher, and big fan of all things muddy and green! I’m thrilled to kick off this little corner of the internet where I’ll share the ups, downs, and sideways moments of learning with kids outdoors. At Sunflower Seedlings, we’re all about hands-on, in-the-dirt learning. I mean, who doesn’t love counting tree rings or spotting a squirrel having its own mini-adventure?

I started Sunflower Seedlings to create a place where little ones can connect with nature, explore, and build those “aha” moments that only come from hands-on discovery. I truly believe that when kids explore the outdoors, they pick up so much more than rocks—they gain life skills like creativity, critical thinking, and even a healthy respect for the environment. So whether we’re counting worm friends or watching clouds, every day’s an adventure designed to make learning feel like play.

Here on the blog, you’ll find stories from our outdoor escapades, fun nature-based activities to try at home (warning: might involve mud), updates on what’s going on with our little Seedlings, and a few tips to keep the kids curious and connected to the world around them.

Thanks for popping in! I’m so glad you’re here to grow curiosity and wonder with us. Let’s dig in (literally)!

Warmly,
Kayla
